We're getting ready for the heavyweight bout of the century with JULIA GILLARD in one corner and KEVIN RUDD in the other; the prize - the prime ministership of Australia.

The clash looks unavoidable after an unflattering video of the former PM mysteriously turned up on Youtube at the weekend.

The Australian newspaper says it's sources have JULIA GILLARD with 51 backers against KEVIN RUDD's 31, but that 21 are still undecided.

Meantime the PM says she understands why a local pollie's come out publicly backing RUDD.

In fact Member for Corangamite DARREN CHEESEMAN's gone even further, calling on the Werribee-based Prime Minister to resign:

GILLARD says she understands DARREN is feeling the pressure from economic change, but says the best way of dealing with that is to keep getting on with the job.

Member for Corio RICHARD MARLES,who works under RUDD as Parliamentary Secretary for Pacific Island Affairs, says he backs GILLARD all the way.
