Geelong mayor to PM: don’t forget our jobs crisis

John Mitchell There are fears the federal Labor party’s ongoing power struggle could see politicians lose focus on Geelong’s looming jobs crisis.  

More than 1200 jobs are on the line as Alcoa reviews the future of its Point Henry smelter and Qantas considers closing its maintenance base at Avalon Airport.

Despite the tension between Foreign Minister KEVIN RUDD and Prime Minister JULIA GILARD Geelong mayor JOHN MITCHELL says he's no-one’s lost sight of the real issues:
