Geelong’s stations to remain unpatrolled

PSO The first of the state's controversial railway station guards start work in Melbourne tonight, but it could be years before we see them in Geelong.

Eighteen newly-graduated Protective Services Officers will patrol stations including Flinders Street and Footscray as part of TED BAILLIEU's promise to put them on every station in Victoria.

But Geelong may have to wait until 2014 before any PSOs are seen here.

State opposition spokesperson JAMES MERLINO says the policy is a shambles:
