Local mayor backs al fresco smoke ban

Smoker al fresco While the Victorian Government considers the fate of smoking in outdoor dining areas in the state, the mayor of the Surf Coast Shire says a ban is something he'd support.

The New South Wales Government will bring in its smoking restrictions from 2015, with a ban on lighting-up in playgrounds and at swimming pools to come into force even sooner.

Surf Coast Mayor BRIAN McKITERICK says he believes the Victorian Government should seriously consider both moves:
