A Corio man whole stole a car and committed nine burglaries in one night is this morning behind bars.

The 26-year-old has pleaded guilty in the Geelong Magistrates Court to a string of charges.

Some of those related to the theft of a car from Torquay and a subsequent police chase that had to be abandoned when it was deemed too dangerous.

He's been given a jailed for 18-months with a minimum of six.
