Two people have had a lucky escape after a two-car accident that forced the closure of a major intersection in Werribee tonight. Two cars collided where the Princes Highway intersects with Cherry Street at approximately 9.10pm. Police, ambulance and the fire brigade were called and the road was blocked for approximately 40 minutes. The police helicopter responded but was not required. Two people were treated at the scene by paramedics but declined hospital treatment. The road re-opened just before 10pm.
