Staff at Melbourne parts supplier CMI are back at work today but Ford employees won't be on the job again until Wednesday.

The stand-off between CMI and its landlord forced the local car maker to stand down hundreds of staff at its North Geelong and Broadmeadows factories.

CMI's landlord finally agreed to unlock the gates to the Campbellfield factory late on Friday, after CMI’s administrator launched legal action.
