An international cycling team could soon be calling Geelong home.
It’s being reported today Geelong could become the summer training base for the Dutch national cycling team.
The team’s head coach was out here for a tour earlier this month, and the City of Greater Geelong and Deakin University are involved in ongoing talks.
It’s understood the team would utilise testing equipment at Deakin and gymnasium facilities at the Geelong Football Club.
Geelong Council says it’s interested in marketing the region as a quality training destination for a range of elite European sports teams and organisations.
