State Budget: How Geelong Fared

Over four-THOUSAND public servants will lose their jobs over the next two-years, under further cuts unveiled in what treasurer KIM WELLS describes as the most difficult state budget in a decade.

Victoria's forecast to post a $155 million surplus for 2012/13.

As expected Geelong Hospital's receiving 93-MILLION dollars for its expansion.

Eight-point-four-million dollars will be set aside to plan and establish the new Grovedale Train Station, while around 40 extra V-Line carriages will be made in Victoria for regional passenger trains.

13-point-6 million dollars has been made available for a new police station at Waurn Ponds.

Two-million dollars has been announced for G-PAC, while two-point-one-million dollars will go towards planning the Lara to Avalon rail link.
