The future of more than six-hundred Avalon jobs should be known in just over a week, with Qantas finishing its review of its heavy maintenance operations.

The airline says a final announcement won't be made until mid-May, with jobs at Avalon, Tullamarine and Brisbane all under a cloud.

Qantas has previously said keep all three maintenance sites wasn’t viable.
