The parents of a baby born on the side of the Surf Coast Highway, between Geelong and Torquay, are still trying to settle on a name for their precious little package. As revealed exclusively on BayFM the woman, who’s understood to be named Sue, was being driven to Geelong this morning when her baby decided she just couldn’t wait to meet mum and dad any longer. She was born by the side of the road not far from the site of the old Geelong Airport at Grovedale. BayFM understands Sue had only been in Labour for an hour when she realised the delivery was imminent. An ambulance was called but by the time paramedics arrived the baby had been born, with the help of surprised bystanders. And in a strange twist, one of the paramedics who attended, who is still in training, revealed exclusively to our newsroom that it was her third non-hospital delivery. Picture: this photo of Sue and her newborn baby girl just minutes after the baby’s birth was given to BayFM by one of the motorists who stopped to help. For privacy reasons BayFM has chosen to obscure the mother’s face. |
