The year 11 students and another classmate from Highvale Secondary College, in Melbourne’s east, were standing on the side of the road at Apollo Bay yesterday afternoon after their school’s mini bus became bogged. Seconds later a passing camper van clipped another mini bus headed in the opposite direction, veering off the road and striking the teenagers. One of the boys has been flown to hospital with suspected spinal injuries. Two others were taken by road to Geelong and Apollo Bay hospitals. One was discharged last night. It’s not clear yet if any of the drivers will be charged. Picture: One of the vehicles involved in yesterday’s accident (www.geelongadvertiser.com.au) |
