More local jobs go as Hastie fails

D  E Air Conditioners Up to 35 Geelong jobs are under a cloud after the collapse of the Hastie Group.

D and E Air Conditioning in Breakwater is part of the refrigeration and electrical group, which has gone into administration with debts as high as $500-million. 

Unions say they have members at the local business who are stuck in limbo with no pay for four-weeks.

Hastie is a conglomerate of dozens of companies across Australia and the UK.

Meantime there are fresh calls for the state government to do more to protect Geelong jobs.

A team of Labor politicians has met with business leaders and local council members in Geelong to discuss their concerns.

Shadow Treasurer TIM HOLDING says the state government is still sitting on its hands:
