Colac Primary School GoogleMaps At least four schools around Geelong and Colac are expected to be closed tomorrow as teachers stage a 24-hour strike.

The Education Union's indicated Point Lonsdale Primary, Oberon Primary, Colac Primary and Surf Coast Secondary College will be closed to students for the entire day as teachers fight for better pay and conditions.

Other schools in the region will be on heavily reduced staffing as busloads of teachers make their way to Melbourne to attend a union rally.

At least 55 schools across the state are expected to close completely.

The Union's MARY BLUETT says they're expecting a huge Geelong contingent at tomorrow’s rally:

A parents hotline has been set up to allow parents to receive up-to-date information about their children’s schools.

The number is 1800 809 834.

It will be operational from 9 o’clock this morning.
