An application for two chicken broiler farms could see up to 600,000 chickens on land at Anakie.

The $8-million bid's currently on public display and has been proposed for Carrs Road, according to the Geelong Advertiser.

It would see up to eight sheds on one farm and four on the other, although both will be managed separately.

The council is not expecting to make a decision before next month.
