Reef Shark A 42-year-old Ocean Grove man's recovering after being attacked by a shark at Port Campbell.

The man was surfing yesterday morning when the 1.5 metre shark bit him on his foot, leaving a seven-centimetre gash.

Terrifyingly, the man says he felt the creature brush against his stomach before it sank its teeth into his right foot.

He’s been taken to Geelong Hospital for treatment.

The species of shark is not known.
