A man has been taken to Geelong Hospital for evaluation after a 3 hour stand off with police at St Albans Park. The drama began just after 3pm when police were called to a house in Grafton Street, where a man thought to be affected by drugs was refusing to come out. The street was closed off and the Police Critical Incident Response Team was called in to negotiate. An ambulance was also on standby at the scene but after several hours police came to the conclusion that the man was not armed and had no one else in the house with him. The incident ended just after 6 when the man eventually came out. He’s now undergoing a psychiatric evaluation. |
