Police are investigating an alleged incident involving a Geelong taxi driver.

They say the driver picked up a passenger in Moorabool Street around 2-15am on May 27, with the passenger disputing the fare a short time later.

A physical confrontation then took place, with the cabbie suffering a broken leg.
