A man and woman from Lara face possible charges after both were pulled over and tested positive for drugs within five minutes – in the same car. Police stopped the car in Purnell Rd, Corio at around 6.30 last night and tested a 23-year-old Lara man. He tested positive and was ordered not to drive for 12 hours. The man and his girlfriend stayed with the car by the roadside and police drove off. But five minutes later the same car was intercepted on Melbourne Rd, Norlane, this time being driven by the 20-year-old woman. She was given a roadside drug test which also returned a positive reading for methamphetamine. Samples from both drivers will now undergo laboratory analysis. The pair face heavy fines and licence suspension if the initial test results are confirmed. |
