Two Cats players have been given the all-clear to play this weekend after a dramatic rescue at a Gold Coast beach.

MATTHEW STOKES and TAYLOR HUNT got into strife after swimming beyond the break at Kurrawa Beach.

It’s the same beach that’s claimed the lives of two young surf lifesavers during competitions in recent years.

TAYLOR managed to swim to the beach under the close watch of lifeguards, while MATTY says he had to get a lift back to shore on a jet ski:
