Some newspapers are reporting the allegation after four guards from the prison were arrested yesterday. Two have since been charged. It's the latest in a string of incidents at Barwon but Acting Corrections Victoria Commissioner JAN SHUARD denies there are security problems at the Lara jail: or listen here A 40-year-old prison guard from Grovedale is facing a string of charges, including drug trafficking and misuse of public office, while another 40-year-old officer from Norlane's charged with possession. They've both been bailed until September. A 31-year-old female guard from Norlane, and two men from Norlane and Delahey who don’t work for Corrections Victoria, have all been released pending further inquiries.
