Australians appear to be going all out to save chocolate maker Darrell Lea, packing into stores after the company announced it’s gone into voluntary receivership.
Darrell Lea has been around since the 1920s and has almost 70 stores around Australia, including one in Geelong. It’s products are sold through three thousand additional retailers around the world. Yesterday the Geelong Darrell Lea store in Moorabool Street was busy all day, with queues sometimes forming on the footpath outside. Similar scenes are being reported at Darrell Lea stores around Australia. |
