geelongcatslogo Former Geelong player DOUG BROWN has passed away.

The 89-year-old, who died on Sunday, played 70 games for the Cats between 1944 and 1950, joining the Air Force during that time in World War Two.

He joined the Goulburn Valley Football League as a captain coach in 1951, before returning to the Cats as the under 19 coach, winning a flag in 1962.

The club's also mourning the loss of life member and former timekeeper KEN COWAN, who died last week at the age of 87.
