Staff at a British boarding kennel where English female boxer Nicola Adams has left her dog Dexter say the doberman was glued to the TV while his mistress was winning gold.

Dexter is staying in a high-class dog hotel and has his own TV.

Staff say when Nicola began punching for her gold medal Dexter stopped playing and sat transfixed at the screen, clutching his stuffed toy olympic mascot.

Australian athlete Sally Pearson has also revealed her dog has been watching her TV interviews with his ears pricked.
