After weeks of political bickering between the Gillard and Baillieu governments a deal has finally been reached on a trial of the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

The Barwon region will host one of five trials, giving five-thousand local people who live with a disability more choice over the standard and quality of care they receive.

Geelong is the fifth region around the country to host a trial.

The others are in Tasmania, South Australia, NSW and the ACT.
