The Baillieu government is being accused of putting politics before lives after revelations four safe level crossings in liberal electorates will get major upgrades.
None of the crossings are in the state's list of the most dangerous top three-hundred. Werribee's deadly Cherry Street is the fourth-worst in the state but is yet to receive a cent. Two crossings in transport minister Terry Mulder’s seat of Polwarth will be upgraded, as well as two in neighbouring South Barwon which is held by fellow Liberal Andrew Katos.
