fire hoses large The CFA is again warning locals to make sure they have smoke alarms in their homes after an elderly man escaped a bungalow fire at Queenscliff.

The 82-year-old is lucky to have survived yesterday's blaze, which is believed to have been caused by a faulty electric blanket.

The fire authority says the man was already out of bed, but there was no smoke alarm fitted in the house.
