AFL Barwon has announced the return of the AFL Barwon Community Awards for the 2023 season, with nominations now open until the end of August.
The Community Awards were established in 2019 to celebrate the excellent achievements of coaches, umpires and volunteers, but have not been held since that first year, mostly due to COVID.
The Awards incorporate the historic AFL Barwon Coaches Awards with the additions of Community Netball Coaching, Club Administrator Awards, and both Football and Netball Umpiring awards.
Nominations can be made through the AFL Barwon website by any member of the community, and are open to all AFL Barwon Affiliated Clubs and Leagues (GFNL, BFNL, CDFNL, GDFNL, Female Football, Junior Football & Netball, and All Abilities FNL).
Nominations close on Thursday 31 August.
Shortlisted nominees will be notified in the first week of September, with the Awards event to take place on Friday 6 October.
