Less than a month until Christmas celebrations kick off locally.
Geelong council confirming that festivities will kick off on November 22 with Carols by the Bay, and the lighting of our floating Christmas tree.
Council releasing a full program of events through until January 7 when the tree comes down for the year.
Mayor Stretch Kontelj said it was always a special time of the year.
“From carols and lights to performances and projections, Christmas is a special occasion in Geelong,” he said.
“It’s a time to come together, share joy and celebrate community.”
Deputy Mayor Ron Nelson added that it was a time for people to explore Geelong and the surrounding region.
“This season is about connection and reflection, and our program has something for all ages and interests to enjoy,” he said.
“Whether it’s catching a pop-up street show, perusing market stalls or riding the Carousel at night, there are many ways to get involved.”
