Three men have been charged over their alleged involvement in an alcohol theft syndicate that targeted local stores.
Police allege the trio is responsible for 120 thefts, including some at stores in Armstrong Creek, Colac, and Ocean Grove.
Over $130,000 of liquor was taken from several shops, predominantly in Melbourne suburbs, allegedly on-selling the stolen products.
Detectives from the Stonnington Crime Investigation Unit arrested three men at a unit in Collingwood.
A 24-year-old man was charged with 80 counts of theft, and appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday, where he was bailed to reappear on Monday.
A 30-year-old man was charged with 38 counts of theft, one count of possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime, and one count of cannabis possession.
He will appear at the Collingwood Neighbourhood Justice Centre in the coming week.
A 53-year-old man was charged with one count of theft, and was bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court in March.
