Big crowds spend weekend in Geelong

Big crowds have flocked to Geelong’s waterfront over the long weekend.

The Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race and the Festival of Sails attracting more than 100,000 people to the region.

Racing was held on the water and on land on Saturday and Sunday.

People also lined the streets across the Geelong and Surf Coast to watch the elite female and male cyclists compete in the road race.

Organisers of the Festival of Sails hailed the annual event another success.

There were also big crowds taking advantage of the long weekend before the start of the 2024 school year this week.
