A 24-hour cat curfew will be phased into Wyndham city this year,
Owners will need to keep their cats within property lines at all times,
Wyndham joins areas like surf coast on these rules, while Geelong’s cat curfew still runs from sunset to sunrise.
“There will be a phased introduction of the new rules, providing time for cat owners to ready their property and help their cats start adjusting to the change before enforcement of the extended containment hours later this year,” a council statement said.
“Enforcement of the current 10pm – 6pm curfew will remain in place during this time.
“Wyndham City will be delivering an education campaign throughout the year, to help owners understand options available to contain their cat and keep them occupied indoors and outdoors within their property boundary.”
