Another loss coming up for Market Square when the Commonwealth Bank moves its branch to Westfield.
The bank says that’ll be happening in May next year with the current branch to close its doors.
It follows Cotton On moving to Westfield in recent years while other businesses have also closed their stores.
“We’ve invested over $5.3m in our Geelong presence with the new branch and business centre,” a spokesperson from the CBA said.
“We look forward to welcoming customers to our new branch at Westfield Geelong in mid 2026 and our new business centre is now open.”
The organisation says it remains committed to the region.
“The business centre has state of the art facilities to support the needs of our growing business community in Geelong with specialists and relationship executives supporting the full breadth of business needs.
“We’re proud to have served the Geelong community for 112 years, and will continue to do so at our new locations.”
