Detectives investigating an aggravated burglary in Newcomb have charged a man.
Police say a stolen vehicle was involved in a head-on collision on Forest Road, Lara on Tuesday morning.
They believe the car had been stolen from a home in Newcomb earlier in the day.
A 40-year-old man was taken to hospital under police guard, while the female driver of the second car was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The male driver of a third car involved in the collision was not injured.
Police say a 40-year-old man has been charged with various offences including aggravated burglary, car theft and dangerous driving.
He has been remanded to face the Geelong Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
