Thieves have targeted a local shed, stealing firefighting equipment on Christmas Eve.
The Werribee CFA says its running track shed at Galvin Park was broken into on Sunday night, with around $15,000 worth of equipment including marshalling gear and hydrants taken.
The brigade says the equipment had been bought through fundraising by volunteers or passed down through generations of firefighters and their families.

It says it has devastated the junior and senior running teams in the brigade on the eve of their competitive season.
