Surf Coast and Golden Plains are among Victorian councils who have cut their general rubbish collection to every two weeks.
The City of Greater Geelong continues with weekly kerbside collections.

Liberal leader Jess Wilson said it was a commonsense change that made life easier for families.
“Households shouldn’t have to wait a fortnight for their over-flowing bin to be collected,” she said.
“Weekly rubbish collection is an essential service that shouldn’t depend on your postcode.”
