Locals are being assured there is nothing to worry about, following concern over the flare at Viva’s Corio Refinery.
Residents noticed the flare was larger than usual on Thursday evening.
Fire Rescue Victoria says while the flare appears larger, is is part of the refinery’s normal operations.

The Corio SES took to social media on Thursday night, saying ther refinery had confirmed there was planned maintenance activity.
It asked locals to call Triple 0 for a confirmed fire or other emergency situations.
