Gang members are reportedly using social media to offload machetes and other bladed weapons before an amnesty comes to an end this Sunday.
They’re being sold for around $40 despite it being illegal to sell them.
More than nine thousand machetes have so far been surrendered – Geelong and Corio police stations among 45 designated drop off points.

Locals still in possession of the weapons are urged to hand them in at amnesty bins.
