Dates locked for airshow return

The ‘big birds’ will again be coming to Avalon next year.

The Airshow has neem locked in to run between February 23rd and 28th.

The southern hemisphere’s biggest aviation, aerospace and defence event generated almost 32-million dollars in economic benefits for Geelong last year.

But there are also calls for long term support for the event to secure its future from VTIC CEO Lisa Patroni.

“This event is an important part of Victoria’s major events portfolio and, importantly, the largest
major event held in regional Victoria,” she said.

“With the recent loss of the MotoGP in Phillip Island, we simply cannot afford to risk losing another cornerstone regional event.

“Victoria’s major events success has been built over decades. To protect that legacy, we need
to ensure our hallmark events receive the certainty and support required to stay here and
continue to grow.”
