The billboard would wrap around walkway access to the Reg Hickey stand (SUPPLIED).

Managers of Kardinia Park want to wrap a 6×6 metre digital billboard around the Reg Hickey stand facing Moorabool Street.

As construction nears completion on what’s to be known as the Joel Selwood stand, the stadiums trust has lodged an application for advertising to be broadcast on the neighbouring stand.

It’s applied to the City of Greater Geelong to install the 6.4m x 6.72m digital screen, that’s proposed to operate 18 hours a day from 6-12am and will face northbound traffic.

The Kardinia Park Trust is openly advising people who may wish to oppose the project to do so via council’s planning website, those who want to do so have less than two weeks with the Planning Notice period concluding on Monday, February 12.

The Trust says it will be responsible for operation and content control of the digital billboard, and third-party promotions will be held to Australian Advertising standards that includes bans on gambling or tobacco products.
