A 13-year-old boy from the Hume area, 13-year-old girl from the Whittlesea area, and 14-year-old boy from the Melton area were each issued cautions, while a 15-year-old girl from the Whittlesea area was released pending further enquiries.

The fifth youth has been identified as the driver of the Nissan and a primary person of interest, yet to be located by investigators.

Police believe the vehicle was taken from Coburg North on Wednesday morning, and are investigating if the vehicle was stolen from a person known to the driver.

It’s understood the car was then involved in multiple hit-run collisions, seen driving erratically across Keilor East, Bundoora and Mill Park.

It was then spotted in Lara, with police attempting to intercept before it took off at speed on Patullos Road just after 12pm.
