Police have been left horrified after a woman was allegedly detected drink-driving in heavy rain – with a child in the backseat.
The woman was located swerving in the heavy rain near Little River yesterday and returned a breath test of 0.139.
Police located the two year old in the back set.
“The females’ vehicle was impounded for 30 days, and she will appear at the Geelong Magistrates Court at a later date,” police said in a social media post.
They added a message about the dangers of drink driving.
“If everyone avoided driving after drinking, the number of road fatalities could be reduced by up to 20%.
“That’s around 50 lives that could be saved every year.”
