A person is believed to have died in what authorities are describing as a fire in a Lorne garage.
Emergency services were called to the residential property off the Deans Marsh Road on Howard Street around 8:30am.
Police are yet to comment on the incident, but paramedics say they transported a man in his 40’s with upper body injuries in a stable condition to Lorne Hospital.
The cause of the blaze is not yet known and the deceased is yet to identified.
Fire crews and police are expected to remain at the scene throughout the morning.
The incident is being managed by Victoria Police who have been contacted for comment.
Geelong Broadcasters is aware of the residential address where the fire occurred but has chosen not to publish it to allow police time to notify the next of kin for the deceased person.
