A Werribee man remains in a critical condition after being stabbed in the neck with a screwdriver at a wedding in Melbourne’s west.
Police and paramedics were called to a venue in Fitzgerald Rd, Sunshine West just after midnight on Sunday, where they found the man suffering from life-threatening injuries.
The 25-year-old victim received extensive treatment at the scene before being taken to hospital by road.
Police issued a statement saying the incident was being investigated by detectives from Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit.
“The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined at this stage and the investigation remains ongoing,” the statement said.
It’s understood the venue suffered damage estimated at more than $10,000.
