A Greater Geelong man has been charged as part of Operation Black Onyx- a week-long firearm blitz across Victoria
The Geelong Division Response Unit conducted a Firearm Prohibition Order (FPO) compliance search at a Breakwater address and located three privately manufactured firearms including shotguns and a pen pistol, over 20 firearm parts and various ammunition.
A 53-year-old Breakwater man was subsequently charged with more than 20 offences.
He was bailed to appear at Geelong Magistrates’ Court on January 20, 2026.
Across the state, VicPol seized 94 firearms, 45 firearm parts, 13 gel blasters and imitation firearms, six 3D printed firearm and various firearm accessories and ammunition.
More than 140 FPO compliance searches and over 600 firearm storage inspections were conducted, with a further two FPOs issued.
