Five hospitalised after Lara crash

Five people, including two children, have been taken to hospital after a single vehicle collision in Lara.

Crews were called to Sandy Creek Road around 7:45pm on Thursday, with the Corio SES Unit helping to free trapped occupants.

A man in his 50s with an upper body injury, and a woman in her 30s with upper and lower body injuries, were taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious condition.

A woman in her 40s was also taken to Melbourne, in a stable condition with a lower body injury.

A todder and a primary school aged child were transported to the Royal Children’s Hospital, both stable.

The Corio SES Unit posted to social media to urge drivers to turn on headlights and reduce speed in low visibility, with Geelong facing a foggy forecast.
