A fundraiser is being held to try and save an employment service in North Geelong.
Northern Futures is at risk of closing after having funding cut by the Victorian Government in its June budget.
The organisation says efforts to secure funding at the state and federal level have not been successful.
It works with some of the region’s most disadvantaged communities, and helps transform lives.
GeelongPort and Give Where You Live are joining in the Giving Day campaign, which is happening today.
The organisations will match donations, dollar for dollar, up to $60,000.
Northern Futures CEO Andrew Palmer is hoping the community will dig deep.
“We know that everybody is doing it tough at the moment,” he said.
“What we’re really appealing for is for local businesses and organisations that might be able to assist with some donations.”
