A Geelong man has been charged with importing methadone into Melbourne.
The 48-year-old was arrested at Melbourne Airport on Wednesday.
Federal Police allege five plastic bags, containing around 2,500 pills, were found hidden inside the man’s luggage after his flight from Thailand.

Testing indicated the pills allegedly contained methadone.
The man is facing charges of importing and possessing a commercial quantity of a border-controlled drug.
Both offences carry a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.
He has been bailed to face court on January 7 next year.
