Geelong’s Rippleside Beach will be hosting the world’s best beach volleyball players in November, with the Beach Volleyfest moving closer to the CBD this year.

The festival will return to the region for the second time after Torquay hosted the Great Ocean Road Beach Volleyfest in 2022.

The Geelong event will include elite competition in the Volleyball World Pro Beach Tour and the Australian Beach Volleyball Tour, with around 400 competitors from across the globe coming to the city.

The men’s and women’s events will run from 17 to 26 November with more than 70 countries set to be able to access streaming of the event, giving Geelong a massive platform to promote tourism in the region.

“After hosting two World Volleyball Beach Pro Tour events in Torquay last year, Volleyfest in Geelong will see some of the world’s best beach volleyball back here competing against our local stars within the space of twelve months,” Volleyball Australia CEO Andrew Dee said.

“With the generous support of the Victorian Government, Geelong Volleyfest will continue the momentum from October’s World Championships in Mexico into a fantastic domestic and international season which will culminate when Australia’s best take to the courts under the Eiffel Tower at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games,” he said.
