City of Greater Geelong has released some new data about our best friends.

Council releasing new data about animals across the region, with the top breeds and names all released.

Bella has been announced as the most popular dog name across the region, while Luna is the most common for cats.

Border Collies are the most popular breed of dog, followed by Labradors.

It’s also been revealed Lara loves pets the most, with more animal registrations in the community than anywhere else in the region

The local council says there are more than 30 thousand dogs and 10 thousand cats registered across the region.
